Our approach
There are plenty of ERP systems that can do everything.
There are plenty of ERP systems that can do everything. None of them handle oversizes, bags and batches the way we know them from agriculture. What's missing is a system that covers exactly these specifics.
Our beginnings
Before a single line of code was written, we interviewed several potato farms and systematically evaluated the conversations.
The same thing kept coming up: in the warehouse, people work with paper and shouted instructions, and by the end of the season no one knows exactly what is where. Several farms had already tried software and given up again, not because it was too hard to use, but because maintaining it was more work than the piece of paper. The existing systems are built for large packing operations, cost accordingly and require someone to set them up. So we started developing a solution for the whole industry.
What guides us
Technology only helps in the warehouse if it creates less work than the piece of paper it replaces.
That's why we stick to three principles. First: no jargon and no features nobody needs. If it doesn't help in everyday work, we don't build it. Second: we think in complete workflows, from storage to relocation to proof for retailers, not in individual screens. Third: we stay close to the farms. Every feature comes from a situation someone showed us in the warehouse.
How we develop
We develop in small steps, together with our pilot farms, and openly show what we are currently working on.
In autumn every stock level is correct because everything is well maintained. The real test comes later, when lots are split, residual quantities are left in between and retailers call at short notice. That's why we first release new features to individual farms and let them run for a whole season before rolling them out to everyone. Anything that doesn't survive that, we take back. Every change is documented in the changelog, in plain language. We are currently looking for the first farms to get started with us.

Some of us grew up on potato farms and know harvesting, storage and trading from personal experience.

Some of us work on software for aerospace, where systems have to run reliably for years and a bug can't just be fixed quickly.
This experience is built into Potabo. The backend runs entirely with German providers, so your storage data never leaves the country, and we operate it with the same standards for availability and security that we know from our main professions.
